Music and Dance Assemblies
On Monday, May 20th, all music classes will perform for the students and teachers in an assembly. Parents, don't worry, you will hear the same music performed at Picnic and Pops! Students need to wear their Fisher Music T-Shirt. Sixth Grade Band students - please report to the gym with instrument and music at 8:30am for a combined rehearsal. Backpacks should be left in or outside of your first period class.
Jazz Concert, Friday, May 24th

Our last performance of the year, is on Wednesday, May 29th, from 5-8pm. Information and Dinner Order Form. Parents, we need your help, please volunteer to help at Picnic and Pops.
Congratulations to Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and 7/8 String Orchestra!
Our seventh and eighth grade ensembles performed beautifully at Music in the Parks on Saturday, May 4th. All groups scored extremely well, with each group winning second place in their division. Great Job!! Concert Band earned a rating of Excellent, with a score of 88.5 (the highest ever for this ensemble!!!) Symphonic Band earned a rating of Superior with a score of 91.5, and 7/8 Orchestra earned a Superior Rating with a score of 93.5!! Well done Fisher musicians!!
Congratulations Sixth Grade Band and Jazz Ensemble!
Our Sixth Grade Band did a fantastic job at Music in the Parks on Saturday, April 27th. They earned a Superior rating from both judges, and won first place in their division, as well as winning the Overall Best Concert Band award! That is quite an accomplishment for such a young group - way to go!
Our Jazz Ensemble also earned a Superior rating from both judges, won first place in their division, and won the Overall Best Jazz Ensemble award! In addition, our 8th grade alto sax player, Brendan D'Angelo, won an individual medal for outstanding soloist! Congratulations Brendan and the Fisher Jazz Ensemble!
Placement Auditions for 2013-2014
All sixth and seventh grade musicians will participate in placement auditions for 2013-2014. This will also serve as the fourth quarter playing assessment. Music will be available on Monday, April 8th. Auditions will begin the week of April 22nd and be held during classtimes, break, and afterschool. Band Audtions. String Auditions.

If you are thinking of volunteering in the classroom, chaperoning, driving, or helping with any performances/field trips, please note that you must have a TB test on file in the Fisher office. You can speak with our school secretary Jane Babb if you need more information about this.
Recommended Music Supplies
Supplies needed for a successful year in band/orchestra: Supplies. Do you shop at Music Village? If so, please turn in receipts to Mrs. Anderson. The receipts can be used for a credit system with Music Village, that can provide supplies in the classoom.

Music Enrichment during flex time
During flex time, I am able to offer Jazz Band as a music enrichment opportunit.
Any student selected for a math or english tutorial will not be able to enroll in music enrichment while needed in tutorial. Students wishing to enroll in music enrichment will not have a study hall class during flex time.
